Filox File Studio

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 24, 2026

Your documents are processed on your device. Filox does not require an account and does not upload your documents to a Filox server. Google services used by the app may process limited data for ads, consent, diagnostics, and security as explained below.

1. About this policy

This policy applies to the Filox Android app, provided by Maicoders. Filox does not require an account and does not sell your personal data or document contents.

2. Data used by Filox

  • Files: Filox reads files you choose so it can perform the action you request. Processing takes place on your device.
  • Storage access: If you enable All files access, Filox uses it only for storage analysis, duplicate and large-file searches, and file management. These scans are not uploaded.
  • Camera: Camera access is used only to scan documents and QR or barcodes. Filox does not record audio.
  • Local app data: Filox stores recent activity, settings, permission records, and temporary working files on your device.

Files you save remain on your device, normally in /Downloads/Filox. A file is sent to another app or person only when you choose to share or open it with them.

3. Google services

Filox uses Google AdMob for ads and Google's consent service. Through these services, the app shares the following limited data with Google:

  • your IP address and approximate location;
  • advertising and device identifiers;
  • interactions with the app and ads; and
  • performance and error information.

Google uses this data for advertising, consent, analytics, fraud prevention, and service operation. Filox also uses Google ML Kit for text and barcode recognition on your device. ML Kit may send Google limited device, app, performance, and error information, but not your document contents.

Google controls the data it receives under Google's Privacy Policy. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized based on your consent, region, and device settings.

4. Retention and deletion

Local app data remains until you use Clear All Data in Filox Settings, clear Filox storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app. Saved files remain until you delete them yourself. Google keeps data it receives according to its own privacy policy.

5. Security and your choices

Filox processes documents locally, uses Android's app protection, and disables app backup. Google states that data sent by its services is encrypted in transit. No app can guarantee absolute security.

  • You can revoke camera or storage access in Android Settings.
  • You can change available advertising consent choices from Filox Settings.
  • You can clear local app data using Clear All Data.
